Here's some information about a project that my Dad, Rick Berthod, and I have been working on: ! The Plecostomus Bottomfeeder Bass ! The numerous mods include: -Reverse 5 in-line headstock reinforced with maple veneers -Two, dual coil, MusicMan-style Seymour Dumcan pickups -Three '4-way-tele-mod' blade switches allow access to any configuration of the 4 coils -Seymour Duncan Active/Passive preamp with 3 band EQ and 'contour' switch via pull pots. -Bottom horn is deeply carved to allow interference free access to the high frets without collapsing your hand -CNCed 2nd generation 'tech-form' picking ramp to allow picking hand freedom of position (instead of having your 2 or 3 'pet postions') -Easy string changes for a string-through-body bass, via a 'fingered bridge' and slotted string tree(not shown yet) -Dual output jacks for access to each pickup individually -More info soon... |
